Narrative
ST. JAMES, MO – A 27-year-old truck driver from Canada sustained serious injuries in a rollover accident along the interstate in Phelps County.
The incident occurred sometime after 1:15 p.m. on the westbound side of I-44 around mile marker 193, which is in the city of St. James near Hart Park.
It’s not yet clear what caused the accident, but police say the victim’s 18-wheeler left the roadway and overturned.
The truck driver, identified as Ramandeep Singh, went to a hospital in Columbia via air ambulance.
The westbound service road of I-44 was blocked while crews worked to clear the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
