Narrative
WARRENSBURG, MO – Two adults died, and two teens went to to the hospital Monday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision along the highway in Warrensburg.
The incident happened at 12:50 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 50 and Business Route 50, which is on the northeast side of the city.
The investigation thus far indicates that the 16-year-old driver of a Chevy Silverado fell asleep, lost control of the vehicle, and ultimately crashed into an Acura RDX SUV.
The crash killed the 83-year-old driver of the Acura and a 55-year-old passenger. Authorities identified the deceased as Patricia Moffett and Derek Moffett.
An air ambulance transported a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old from the SUV to the hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck went to the hospital with non-critical injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
