Narrative
KANSAS CITY, MO – A child went to the hospital Friday night following a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the east side of Kansas City.
The incident happened around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of White Avenue and Independence Avenue, which is in the Sheffield area.
Police say that and eastbound orange Kawasaki Z125 motorcycle rear-ended a gray KIA Soul when the latter vehicle turned west onto Independence Avenue.
The KIA then left the scene of the accident.
A child passenger from the motorcycle sustained serious injuries, while the driver sustained minor injuries.
Authorities continue to search for the driver of the KIA Soul.
The investigation is ongoing.
