Narrative
ST. LOUIS, MO – A 65-year-old man was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis after he sideswiped a 1999 Freightliner with his 2016 Kia Soul after trying to change lanes Saturday.
Missouri Highway Patrol said the events of the crash unfolded before 12:30 p.m. when the driver of the Kia was traveling behind the truck in the fourth lane and tried to move over to the third lane and struck the tractor-trailer.
The Kia motorist rammed into a concrete barrier, leading his car to roll over. First responders rushed the driver — Guy Porter — to the emergency room, where he later passed away. The tractor-trailer driver was unharmed.
